Can
sincerity combined with false beliefs and practices
count for righteousness?
Although
sincerity is praiseworthy and is necessary for faith,
it
is
not an acceptable substitute for truth.
“Not
every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter
into
the kingdom
of
heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which
is
in heaven.
Many will
say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied
in thy
name? and
in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy
name
done many
wonderful
works? And then will I profess unto them,
I never
knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
(Matt. 7:21-23)
“Whosoever
committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin
is
the transgression of
the law.” (1 John 3:4)
Mat
7:21--23: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter
into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father
which is in heaven. Many
will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy
name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many
wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
It will soon be too late for you if you have not choosen to follow all of God's Commandments! you will die for ever.
You cannot pick and choose which ones to obey!
If you keep all but one you are still guilty of breaking all.
James 2:10: “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
