In the fourteenth chapter of Revelation we read of three angels having Messages for those on earth.“Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” (Rev. 14:7)
The second angel tells us the filthy teachings of Babylon are destroyed because:
“She made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” (Rev. 14:8)“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:” (Rev. 14:9-10) The Third Angel
In Revelation 18:4 we read of a voice, from heaven saying:
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” (Rev. 18:4)The warning of this voice is to all those whom God recognizes as his people. Why should he have to warn HlS PEOPLE?
Because after the Messiah came, they were fooled by teachings of the apostate church: the mother of harlots. This is the “her” of Revelation 18:4.
“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)This is the false religion whose followers (those believing any teachings contrary to the word of God regardless of who or where they are) will receive the plagues of the wrath of God.
“And he [beast] had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” (Revelation 13:15)
Ancient history teaches us the Roman Catholic Church became the “image” mentioned in Rev. 13:14-18, of the Pagan Roman government. She accepted and “baptized” into her organization the teachings of Paganism.
The Paganistic nations did not pretend to be Christian. It was the Roman Catholic Church that became the embodiment of Paganism. Her daughters protested but followed in her footsteps.
Because the pagans, forced to accept the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, would not give up their gods, goddesses, festivals etc., the papacy gave them a “Christian” name and so satisfied the Pagans and hoodwinked their own members.
Jesse Benedict Carter, in his book: Religious Life of Ancient Rome, tells us, on pages 253, 258:
“The old pagan festivals had gone except such of them as lived on under the guise of Christian festivals. Thus body politic was formed in which the body politic of Ancient Rome could live on; and thus was fulfilled the last requirement which Paganism could well make of Christianity, the preservation not only of her culture, her content, but also of her outward form. It is very easy to see the evil which the “Holy Roman Empire” accomplished. The Papacy was assisted in this by the Roman Government.”The Pagans worshipped Nimrod, the builder of Babylon, Noah's great grandson, as the sun god. He built the literal city of Babylon and was the first king of Babylon; the first to organize those rebelling against God into a secret society. It had to be underground because the followers of God would not have tolerated the worship of the gods of paganism at that time.
Down through the ages since the establishment of Paganism as a religion there has been one outstanding sign: the worship of the sun. Nimrod was worshipped as the sun god, Saturn.
He was also worshipped as the Messiah or the child. This was one form of Paganism—the Trinity, Nimrod as father-son and Semiramis as “Queen of Heaven.”
“At the Council of Nice, says the author of “Nimrod,” “The Melchite section”—that is, the representative of the so-called Christianity of Egypt— “held that there were three persons in the Trinity—the Father, the Virgin Mary, and Messiah their Son. In reference to this astounding fact, elicited by the Nicene Council, Father Newman speaks exultantly of these discussions as tending to the glorification of Mary.”(Hislop’s The Two Babylons, page 82.)
Nimrod fashioned a government after the beliefs of the Pagans on “the other side of the flood.”:
“And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods. Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”(Joshua 24:2, 14, 15)Nimrod’s government used capital punishment for those revealing secrets of the “Hidden Mysteries of Paganism” to any one not belonging to the underground society.
Why are we given so many warnings against Paganism? Because the false religion PRETENDS TO DO GOD’S BIDDING, but is the image of Ancient Pagan Rome.
What beliefs of Paganism were incorporated into the tenets of the church called “mother of harlots.”?
Some of the similarities are:
1. The cross—the sign of Tammuz: Nimrod, Saturn.
2. Worship of Queen of Heaven (Semiramis) now called Mary.
3. Vestal Virgins: now called nuns.
4. Birthday of Nimrod (Dec. 25th.) called Christmas or birthday of Christ—though no one knows when Jesus was born.
5. Worship of the SUN—Sunday worship or worship on the “Venerable day of the SUN.”
6. Worship of Astarte [Easter] Christ did not arise Sunday morning but “In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week” (Matt. 28:1-7)
The only sign Jesus gave that he was the Messiah: He was to be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. From Friday afternoon to Sunday at sunrise certainly is not three days and three nights! (See Matt. 12:40)
“It is well known that the word Easter is not a Christian expression—not in its original meaning. The word came from the name of a pagan goddess—the goddess of the rising light of day and spring. “Easter” is but a more modern form of Eostre, Ostera, Astarte, or Ishtar, the latter, according to Hislop, being pronounced as we pronounce “Easter” today.” (Hislop's The Two Babylons.)7. Hot Cross Buns and colored Easter eggs.
“The egg was a sacred symbol among the Babylonians...The ancient Druid bore [carried] an egg as the sacred emblem of their idolatrous order. In the Dionysiaca, or mysteries of Bacchus, as celebrated in Athens, one part of the nocturnal ceremony consisted in the consecration of an egg. The Hindoo fable celebrate their mundane egg as of golden colour. The people of Japan make their sacred egg to have been brazen. In China, at this hour, dyed or painted eggs are used on sacred festivals, even as in this country. In ancient times eggs were used in the religious rites of the Egyptians and the Greeks, and were hung up for mystic purposes in their temples.” (The Two Babylons, page 108, 109.)“How, then, did this custom come to be associated with Christianity? Apparently some sought to Christianize the egg by suggesting that as the chick comes out of the egg, so Christ came out of the tomb. Pope Paul V (1605-1621) teaching his superstitious votaries thus to pray at Easter:— ‘Bless, O Lord, we beseech thee, this thy creature of eggs, that it may become wholesome sustenance unto thy servants, eating it in remembrance of our Lord, Jesus Christ, &c”’ (The Two Babylons, Hislop, page 110).
After the resurrection of Christ Satan knew he had but a comparatively short time to do his evil work. Now, in these “LAST DAYS” we are to:
“Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring Lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” (I Peter 5:8)He certainly has succeeded in getting men to believe good is evil and evil is good.
How did the practices that caused the destruction of the world by the Deluge come down to this modern age? There are many books that trace this. Some are: Hislop’s The Two Babylons, Jesse Benedict Carter’s The Religious Life of Ancient Rome; Dowling’s History of Romanism and Myers’ Ancient Histories.
The IMAGE of the Pagan Roman Religion (Catholic Church) with the MOUTH given to it (the Pope) became partners with the Pagan Roman government (beast) in 610 A.D. and reigned until September of 1870=1260 years. The “beast” went into the bottomless pit (had power taken from it; went into obscurity) but the church continued.
She claims her power was proved when she gave honor to the first day of the week as the weekly sabbath and the “Christian” churches followed meekly after her. Only those who were on the Lord’s side rejected the blasphemy of the “Whore of Babylon” and many died for their loyalty to God.
Read Fox’s Book Of Martyrs to fully understand the inhumane and barbaric treatment of those who would even dare to read God's word
The following is a small example of what happened in the “Inquisition,”:
“Men pondered long in those days on how they could devise methods that would produce the most torture and pain. One of the most popular methods was the use of the rack, a long table on which the accused was tied by the hands and feet, back down, and stretched by rope and windlass. This process dislocated joints and caused great pain.
“Some who rejected the teachings of the Roman church had molten lead poured into their ears and mouths. Eyes were gouged out and others were cruelly beaten with whips.
“Some were forced to jump from cliffs onto long spikes fixed below, where, quivering from pain, they slowly died. Others were choked to death with mangled pieces of their own bodies, with urine, and excrement....
“In the year 1554 Francis Gamba, a Lombard, of the Protestant persuasion, was apprehended and condemned to death by the sentence of Milan. At the place of execution, a monk presented a cross to him, to whom Gamba said, “My mind is so full of the real merits and goodness of Christ that I want not a piece of senseless stick to put me in mind of Him.” For this expression his tongue was bored through and he was afterwards burned.“What happened to those who helped anyone who was called a “Heretic?” “We therefore subject to a curse, both themselves and their defenders and harborers, and, under a curse, we prohibit all persons from admitting them into their houses, or receiving them upon their lands, or cherishing them, or exercising any trade with them.” (Dowling's History Of Romanism, page 302.)
Rev 13:15: “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
Rev 13:16: “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:”
Rev 13:17: “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
Rev 13:18: “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
God’s instructions are so easy to follow; why do people accept the teachings of Paganism?
It is getting late—there are only a few signs to be fulfilled before the return of our Saviour. There is not much time to decide for God or Satan. THE THIRD ANGELS MESSAGE warns of the fate of those deciding to go with Satan.
“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:” (Revelation 14:9, 1)Our goal in this life should be to accept Christ as our Savior, and live as our God demands of us.
“Here is the patience of the saint: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” (Rev. 14:12)
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” (Rev. 22:14)
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” (Eccl 12:13)
